Speed and clarity won
The top two requests were a clear picture of the steps ahead and a fast turnaround between them. Candidates forgive a tough interview far more readily than a week of silence.
I didn't need to win. I needed to know where I stood and when I'd hear back.
The practical takeaway: publish your process, then beat your own timelines. Both are cheap, and both compound into a reputation that makes your next req easier to fill.
